     2 Samuel 12:20-23

Then David arose from the earth, washed and anointed himself and changed his clothes. And he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. He went to his own house. And when he asked, they set food before him, and he ate. And his servants said to him "What is this thing you have done? You fasted and wept while the child was alive; but when the child died you arose and ate food."

And he said "While he was still alive, I fasted and wept, for I said 'Who knows whether the Lord will be gracious to me, that the child may live?' But now he is dead. Why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me."

I would encourage you to read the rest of the Chapter It is 2 Samuel 12. It talks about the son David had with Bethsheba after he stole her from one of his army men and killed him. David had a son by Bethsheba and God caused the child to die.

David could have been at a loss the rest of his life. He could have shut down, not eaten, not washed up, not put oil on himself. Ceased to exist. But he didn't. Why would he let his dead son kill him? He knew God still had great things for him to do. He knew that. He also knew that to live you must take care of your own wellbeing.

~What are some ways to take care of yourself?~

  1. Take a bath or a shower.

  2. Get some exercise.

  3. Take deep breaths and let them out all of the way.

  4. Breathe regularly.

  5. Get what you need from someone else and help them take care of their own needs.

  6. Eat good food. Tasty and nutritious food.

  7. Take your wine<-Bible interpretation. / Take your medicine.

  8. Talk to friends about the situation and work on not hurting them and finding a solution.

  9. Clean up your environment. This could be your room or your game room, your desk, or your life. Get rid of what doesn't serve your purpose in life. That doesn't mean throw it away, maybe give it to someone else. But defiantly throw away the disgusting stuff.

 10. Love others and see your opponent's side of view. Respect is a different perspective.

 11. Watch a Movie or listen to a story. It might just have something to tell you ;)

 12. Gather together with friends, hang out, chill, vibe, just be in your community. It is honestly therapeutic.

 13. Be in silence. It's not a bad thing. Listen to yourself think.

 14. Stay off the mega-pixel screens and pick up your favorite hobby. Do something that You care about.

 15. Run outside. Just Run. To a good place. But do it, Run.

 16. Take care of your money. Pay off your debt. Be ready to face the future.

 17. Laugh.

 18. Kiss your Hubby! Or wife, goodness...

 19. Garden. Create something sweet.

 20. Listen to a rhythm/music. Create one to :)

 21. Cry. Go to your room or someplace by yourself and cry. There is no shame in crying. The only shame is the other person who sees it and does nothing. They put it on you to deflect it off themselves.

I hope you can take something from this.
